Lucid.
rain and shine.
I sit outside while the storm comes in
The cool air likes to breathe on my skin
The rain drops make my glasses blurry
The sky gets angry in the calm, flashes of light warning you to go inside into safety
The growling of the man above likes to prepare you for the worst
“Get inside, or else.”
I never liked to listen to warnings
Juvenile traits I have to outgrow
When the rain starts to pour my clothes start to stick
I start to shiver knowing my body needs the warmth of another
But the cold and gloom, makes me appreciate the bloom
I’d like die with the feeling of the sky making me new
My hair is to my shoulders for the first time in two years
Something you can’t speak about for the fear of it being taken and buried
I went to the forest and walked the trails until I couldn’t breathe
Heart pumping in my ears
Sweat tickling my lip
I put sun block on all the ink I collected and borrowed
To prevent the fade into green
My cheeks hurt from the smiling and giggles that only birthed from innocent laughter
I waited till I couldn’t breathe to pull out my inhaler
The rush and expansion of lungs made me speak about nonsense to the trees
I have found ways to become this free
I don’t have any money
It’s kinda funny
But this is the happiest I’ve ever been

“I’d like die with the feeling of the sky making me new”
I’d like to die?
Just caught my eye.
Powerful imagery. I love the pacing and the atmosphere.
